Education services currently include classes and workshops focused on the following topics:

  • Self Esteem and Empowerment for Women
  • Self Esteem and Empowerment for Teens
  • Personal Safety and Awareness for Women
  • Parenting Teens and Adolescents
  • Fathers Parenting Daughters
  • Mothers Parenting Sons

* Most trainings are offered at least twice per year.

Training services are offered to agencies which support victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment. These services are also available to individuals who wish to better understand the nature of these issues.  The Women’s Resource Centre offers onsite presentaions and workshops which can also be tailored for specific agencies or groups.  The types of organizations which may benefit from the presentations include:

  • Large and small organizations
  • Employers, Employees, HR personnel
  • Police Officers
  • Lawyers
  • Magistrates
  • Teachers
  • Religious Leaders

 

Awareness campaigns focus the community’s attention on current issues which require increased involvement to affect long term change.  Currently, the Women’s Resource Centre’s awareness campaigns focus on the following:

  • International Women’s Day – March 8th (Annually)
  • Free monthly Legal Clinics for women (call WRC for dates)
  • The WRC also participates with various community partners to raise awareness of issues relating to women
